Dietary Supplements
from:Millions of individuals struggle with the desire to lose weight. Often, they want it to happen yet they don’t have the time or will power to make it happen. The use of dietary supplements for weight loss has become a very high market. There are so many products out there to choose from, it can be a difficult decision.
Don’t be fooled by the many advertisements claiming certain dietary supplements can help you lose a large amount of weight in very little time. Losing weight has to involve a decision to make changes to your lifestyle including your diet and level of exercise. Many dietary supplements claim they will increase your metabolism which will burn more fat. However, most of these claims can’t be proven.
The use of dietary supplements can be dangerous. They can have some very harsh side effects including nausea, dizziness, shaking, memory loss, and heart palpitations. In some cases, dietary supplements have resulted in death. The Food and Drug Administration has worked hard to create laws against unsafe dietary supplements. The use of Ephedra in them has been banned due to the number of reported cases of side effects and deaths from using dietary supplements containing Ephedra.
Herbal dietary supplements are very commonly used. They are not approved by the FDA because they have not been tested yet for their value or evaluated for their side effects. One very common herbal dietary supplement is green tea. People choose to consume it in liquid form as well as take daily pills.
It is very important to use dietary supplements as directed. Abuse of dietary supplements is very common, especially in women. They believe it will help them lose weight even faster. However, abusing dietary supplements can result in severe health related problems.
Weight loss is one of the biggest issues individuals have with themselves. The promotion of dietary supplements makes the process seem easy. In reality, effective weight loss needs to be done in conjunction with a healthy, balanced diet and a great exercise program. Your doctor can help rule out any health issues that might prevent you from losing weight. They can also help you plan your diet and exercise routine. Dietary supplements should be used carefully and under the supervision of your doctor.
