Are You Getting The Right Nutrition From Your Food?

from:

Our body needs sufficient nutrition for its growth and for replacement of the tissues that are constantly degenerating. Nutrition is also essential for providing calcium and other minerals to the body systems. The food that we eat should have the necessary elements of nutrition in order to provide good health. However, are we really getting the right type and amount of nutrition from the fruits, vegetables and the other food that we eat? It’s important to analyze the food that we eat as good health is essential for a healthy and happy life.

Food Deficiencies
Unfortunately, the fruits and vegetables that are available in the market do not contain the right amounts of minerals and other ingredients that are essential for good health. The food that we buy from our local grocery store is grown by farmers who also have economic considerations to care about. As such, they rotate the harvesting of their farms at a faster rate than they should be doing, with the result that the land does not get enough time to rest. The soil gets exhausted, the original mineral quality is lost and the food does not get the necessary nutrients.

In order to make up for the deficiencies of nutrition, the farmers resort to using chemical fertilizers but the crops cannot get the required nutrition with these fertilizers. As a result, in order to get the nutrition of one orange you now have to consume eight oranges.

Making Up For The Deficiencies
The deficits of food can however be made up by taking vitamins daily. It’s a cheap way of providing your body with the required amount of nutrition but you should make sure that the vitamins do not contain any additives or artificial preservatives. Moreover, the vitamins should have been prepared from natural substances.

Organic Foods
Another way of ensuring proper nutrition is to use organically grown food. The farmers who grow organic fruits and vegetables are aware of the damage that chemical fertilizers can do to the environment and as such they do not use such fertilizers. In order to make sure that the food grown by them contains adequate amount of nutrition, they rotate the crop on their land.

The amount of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals is high in organic foods with the result that consumption of organic foods provides greater nutrition. Such foods are healthier than other types of food and taste better as well. Better nutrition means that there is less chance of getting diseases.

The best way to increase the amount of nutrition for your body is to take vitamin pills and eat organic food. Whenever you buy any food, you should check the nutrition information as mentioned on the label. It’s your responsibility to ensure that you and your family get the right amount of nutrition so that all of you can stay healthy. Making the right food choice should be your top priority and organic foods can solve your problem.
